Introduction
to Libertocracy
Libertocracy is a movement to develop
a comprehensive consensual civilization to protect individual freedom, produce a more
efficient and advanced form of government, a more productive economy and create a more
meaningful culture. The Libertocracy website disseminates information and brings together
freedom loving people to communicate and commit to action.
The critical component of Libertocracy is that
the individual retains the sovereign power to govern one's life in relation to others
through consensual contracts. So not only can there never be a concentration of power over
any area, there can never be a concentration of power over an individual, since the
individual may subscribe to only the governmental services one desires and form as many
different governing associations as one wants. Individual freedom rests with the sovereign
power of individuals to make independent choices. The wisdom of the ordinary person is
sufficient to proscribe a network of independent, yet interrelated governing corporations
that will provide the consumer-civilzen with everything that civilization requires to
serve both the individual and society at large, because the individual will never choose
to destroy oneself by voluntarily surrendering one's right to an authority which would
place itself at war with the individual, and in the absence of the political cartel, no
corporation would want to destroy the very free enterprise system which is the source of
its success. By placing total control of government under the watchful eye of each
individual, there is erected the surest safeguard against tyranny. Where every person is a
participant in government, not in a second hand manner, but always, and in every way in
one's personal and consumer choices.
The concept of Libercratic government is
a polycentric free enterprise system of governmental services including law and security.
It's my own elaboration on providing public services through the free market, similar to
anarcho-capitalism, only more formal and organized. I described Libercratic government as
a free enterprise of government services, in which all property is owned by individuals,
only individuals are sovereign, and the only sovereign property is that which is owned by
individuals. Individuals would also own Libercratic governments as shareholders in a
corporate superstructure of public services competing with other large corporations and
small businesses providing many of the same services. Whether or not a large corporation
or industry consortium would be more efficient than thousands of smaller companies
providing services would be determined by the market. I don't know exactly what size that
would end up being, but considering economies of scale, I would tend to think that in a
totally free society a few dozen large corporations would replace the nation-state within
a given territory. Though for some services, many small businesses may be more efficient.
Sovereignty over land remains with the individual owners who contract for
government services, e.g.; choosing a set of laws under which they live, settling disputes
in private courts, purchasing security services, utilities, education, none of which would
compromise individual sovereign ownership of land. In fact, individual shareholders'
ownership in the corporations that provide those services is an extension of individual
sovereignty over the corporations. So a private property owner would not have one's
sovereignty over one's property compromised by purchasing private police or choosing a
dispute resolution service. How much authority the owner allows to external authorities
depends upon the choices of the owner.
Since nationality is an arbitrary cultural orientation based on common
ethnicity, values and way of life that differs between different groups of people,
nationality is considered a private matter similar to organized religion. If people want
to organize an association they call a nation, that is up to them. Libercratic government
defends the right of people to choose and organize their own nationality but does not
impose a concept of a nation on anyone, therefore the only national boundaries would be on
the sovereign property of the owners themselves. Property owners have the right to allow
or restrict any visitors they choose, but the Libercratic government would not. Therefore
one would cross national boundaries when traveling across the property lines of two
different owners who identify themselves by different nationalities. Such cultural
distinctions would have little to do with larger human rights law.
Nationality, which is a relatively recent human invention, is now practiced
as a cult that is given supreme precedence over human rights and life. In a free society
people will have to organize their concepts of ethnicity, nationality and religion on
their own and seek voluntary converts. If they want integrity of continuous borders, then
they will have to voluntarily purchase all of the land surrounding their community instead
of trying to annex the land from others or impose their nationality on them.
The authority of the individual property owners, may include choosing to live
as an isolated anarchist who simply puts up a no trespassing sign or it may involve
property owners forming a gated community association that requires permission for
outsiders to enter. It may be possible for several community associations who border one
another to form a larger authority that would restrict entry and may even require
something like passports, but the size of such large associations would be very limited
and could only operate with the consent of all property owners within those associations.
Should just one property owner refuse to join the association, then that property owner
would be exempt from the association's rules.
While an isolated anarchist would have to defend his property on his own, the
authority of sovereign property owners to form community associations or larger
governmental organizations provides the authority for enforcement of their rules on those
who consent to live under them or visit their jurisdiction. It is proprietarian. The
anarchist hermit would be considered a sovereign government onto himself, although he may
not like being called a government, but should he enter onto another sovereign's property
then he would be subject to that property owner's laws and to all the laws that property
owner has voluntarily contracted to observe.
Libercratic government as a system is universal in its potential and without
limited borders, but its jurisdiction and application is controlled through contract
insurance which compels compliance with the law, even for aliens, who choose to visit
or trespass on Libercratic jurisdiction, including citizens of states, whereby they agree
to obey Libercratic law, submit to arrest and abide by Libercratic court decisions by
requiring them to sign a contract agreeing to such as a condition for association with
Libercratic civilzens and institutions. Thus Libertocracy is a true social contract
because it is consensual and binding.
The political-state is nothing but a racket based on lies, coercion, and
violent force to make its subjects submit to a system that they would never choose if they
were free, they perpetuate the deception by fooling the citizens into thinking that its
necessary for people to surrender some of their rights to gain the perceived benefits the
political system provides, some of those benefits are; terrorism, slavery, persecution,
extortion, invasion of privacy, denying people the right to freely do business and trade,
reducing the productivity of the economy which creates poverty and ensnares people in a
life long dependency on the system with no way out. The fuel to maintain this system is
taxation, extortion backed by the threat of deadly violence, the subjects are told that
taxes are necessary, that you benefit from them and that they are as certain as death
itself.
Libertocracy once and for all exposes and refutes that lie for all time,
there are many different ways to pay for government services without taxes and many more may be conceived, any
governmental operation, any service that is currently provided by a state can be provided
through Libercratic government much more efficiently and effectively, tailored to fit
individual people's needs and demands, and, it can all be done without taxes, and what's
more, our Libercratic government's services are guaranteed, if you're not 100% satisfied
with the services you receive you may get your money back, if the services haven't yet
been consumed. In Libertocracy if you're not satisfied with the government under which you
live you may choose another one or start your own, they all operate under the same
principles of protecting individual sovereignty and their differences are reconciled
through FSUTO.
Libercratic government can do a better job at providing security services, just courts, better education, honest money that doesn't lose its
value, better regulation of the economy
provided as a service to consumers, protection of public safety, protection of the
environment, health and a guaranteed equal opportunity system, protection of the family
and children, as well as allowing the opportunity for people to organize themselves to
develop a more meaningful community and culture. There is nothing that the state does that
a Libercratic system can't do better.
In Libertocracy people and businesses will be able to earn more money and
keep all of what they earn, yet there is a more dependable system for providing for the
needs of the chronically poor which provides a social safety net and can eventually
eliminate all poverty, this results in a better way of life for all people within a
Libercratic system.
Best of all, under universal Libertocracy there will be international peace,
states are by their nature criminal, terrorist organizations who wage continual wars
against their own citizen's rights as well as against people of other nations in a world
feudal system to gain more and more power to an unlimited degree. All political systems
whether they are labeled as communist, socialist, fascist, republican or democratic that
operate within the cartels of states commit more or less the same evils. Libertocracy is
the only legitimate form of government possible and the only hope for governing human
society justly in a way that respects the sovereignty of the individual to enjoy total
freedom while living in peace.
Ours is not a perfect
society, there will still be crime, but instead of institutionalized criminality and
corrupting society into a war against freedom, we will raise morality to a higher level
and allow respect for natural rights where people have the best chance to live a peaceful
life, where rights are respected and human potential is fulfilled. Instead of biased
political courts, ours will be neutral to produce the best chance of receiving justice and
restoring to those who are wronged their due. Our system will not provide everything that
people need or desire, but in our system, people's lives, bodies and property will be
their own, at least they will be able to enjoy what they actually own and to make the most
of it, and they can join together to help provide basic needs and opportunities for
others, to improve the quality of life for all. Only in Libertocracy is there any hope for
humanity. The attempt by states to pervert or manipulate human nature is definitively
waging a war against human nature by violating those rights which are inherent and
natural. Our system respects and protects those natural rights in a fair and neutral
system where there is true justice, where humanity is free from the tyranny, coercion and
manipulation of political-states, where people can create positive institutions of
self-government on their own terms that will elevate society and culture and inspire in
people the highest that is in human nature.
The Human Liberation Alliance is an
educational, protest and political action organization. Librademia provides the framework
for a supreme government with the most complete, just and advanced constitution ever
written, its purpose is to protect individual rights, it only operates a legal-justice
system and security services, tax free, it isn't allowed to offer any other services, it
doesn't provide basic needs, it doesn't run an education system, it doesn't print money or
regulate the economy, those are services that are left to civil governments such as
Poliverium which does provide those services and more, all without taxes. The Free
Sovereign's Universal Treaty Organization provides the means to settle disputes between
different governments and coordinates the interactions of their civilzens.
