Community Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers to work on particular issues and projects, on subjects that most interest you and at your own pace. We are particularly dedicated to community organizing, so you can concentrate your energies on organizing your neighbors into a more cooperative community and lead them in developing cultural activities, addressing social issues and networking with businesses and other communities and recruiting other volunteers.
Volunteers would print up informational pamphlets to hand out and talk to their neighbors about organizing their community, they would hold neighborhood meetings and recruit volunteers to concentrate on specific tasks. There is a need for people to concentrate on community political activism, forming a community government, dealing with City Hall and the state and forming political alliances with other communities and issue groups. Other people would concentrate on the community economy, financial systems, insurance, building business networks and speaking to companies and local businesses about providing services to the community.
The social life of the community is of utmost importance, a major focus of service is addressing social problems and needs. On the positive side, social leaders need to be good role models who can communicate with and inspire others to live up to a higher moral standard. Social leaders will work with others to organize community gatherings, parties, charity fund-raisers and will help to provide guidance to children and support for parents. A community needs to create a positive social environment for everyone, especially children for whom there is a need for organizing activities in a safe environment that reinforces the proper values. Also, social leaders need to take responsibility for addressing the problems in their communities, they need to help families and children who are in trouble, they need to coordinate with social workers, psychologists, ministers, teachers and others who are experienced in dealing with particular problems. As a whole, a diverse community must foster positive relations between neighbors, there must be a positive and inclusive environment that works on building understanding and caring between different groups, they must particularly work on eliminating all traces of racism and statism while building a community of mutual respect and caring between different ethnic groups.
The culture of the community is the embodiment of a people's values and it is the vehicle for their way of life. A community's culture must be protected, organized, developed and lead, intentionally and toward a directed purpose. Community leaders must work with their neighbors to organize local cultural activities, e.g.; festivals, arts, crafts, sports, etc. Communities build closer bonds through shared values and activities, by choosing a particular cultural vision that represents their preferred lifestyle, this cultural vision may be predominately country, neo-Victorian, Western, or it may embody a particular nationality, ethnicity or region. The cultural identity may be pursued constantly as an interpretation of the daily lifestyle of the community, or they may choose to pursue a certain cultural expression only during a period of time, such as a weekend renaissance faire or a month-long Victorian theme. Culture should be free and creative and involve locals in contributing their own vision to a shared way of life. The culture of which I speak is not primarily entertainment or representational arts, it is the participatory activities that involve people in shared contributions that create a more meaningful way of life. Developing cultural activities is fun, you can do as much as you want, whenever you have the time, it's so creative and enjoyable that, it's not hard work, it's enjoying life as a purposeful pursuit.
Volunteers may work as much as they want, there's no time consuming requirements. Please let me know what issues most interest you and what skills you have to contribute. Experience in a particular field is important as well as membership or contacts with special interest groups or industry associations. You may choose the issues you most prefer.
